He is survived by: his parent Rebecca Sue Fleming Avery; his nephews, Steve Avery of Nashville, David Avery of Missoula, Andrew Avery of Los Angeles, Daniel Avery of Brooklyn and Mike Slaughter of Durban; and his sister-in-law Shirley Avery.
