With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Paul Abbott (Maryville, Tennessee), born in Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on May 20, 2023 at the age of 96. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of William Paul Abbott to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his wife Lorraine Yvonne Swift Abbott; his parents, William Peter Abbott and Lucy Jane Davis Abbott; and his siblings, Dorothy Abbott Boswell, Kenneth Kyle Abbott, James Howard Abbott and Richard Lewis Abbott.

He is survived by: his son Richard Neil Abbott; his friends, Katie Ingersoll, Mary Bryant and Amy Reed; and also, Sue and Carolyn Wilson.

Paul was a strong supporter of both the church and Partners for Children, and accordingly, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, gifts be given in Paul's memory to either Cedar Lane United Methodist Church or Partners for Children, Inc., both of which are located at 714 Cedar Lane, Knoxville, TN 37912.
