He was predeceased by: his parents, George D. Howell, Sr. and Sarah Kiskadden Howell; and his siblings, Margaret Kiskadden Howell (Peggy) of Indianapolis and George D. Howell of Jackson, Tennessee.. He is survived by: his wife Joan Helton Howell of Maryville; his daughter Mary Elizabeth Cole; his grandsons, Joseph Wayne Cole of Maryville and Gary Michael McGhee (Meredith); and his great grandchildren, Mary Grace of Clemmons, Patrick of Clemmons, Aidan of Clemmons and Liam of Clemmons.
A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 220 W Broadway Ave, Maryville, TN 37801. A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Grandview Cemetery (2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803).
