He was predeceased by: his parents, David Steele and Cecelia Steele; and his brother Marshall Steele. He is survived by: his children, Tom Steele (Tina) of Maryville, TN, Brenda Harman (Jeff) of Titusville, FL and Matt Steele (Keyerra) of Maryville, TN.; his wife Gail Steele; his siblings, Grace Corbell and John Steele (Pete); his grandchildren, Alex Steele, Benjamin Steele, Kayla Steele, David Steele, Isabella Steele, Cody Harman and Shannon Harman; his great grandchildren, Liam, Mason, Bentley and Beckett-Nolan; and his friends, Beth Killian, Gene and Brenda Mullins.
