She was predeceased by: her former husband Wendell Y. Thomason, Sr. of Henderson, KY; her husband John B. Nichols, Jr.; her son Timothy Lee "Timbo" Thomason of Maryville; her parents, Andrew Funk and Margaret Funk; and her brother Charles "Buddy" Funk of Henderson, KY..

She is survived by: her brother Andrew "Sonny" Funk of Henderson, KY; her children, Wendell "Tom" Thomason (Cindy) of Maryville, Anthony "Tony" Thomason of Panama City, FL, Pastor John Paul Nichols (Audrey) of Morristown, Indiana, Tammy Krupnick (Gary) of Providence Forge, VA and Rebekah Cable (Mark) of Maryville; her daughter-in-law Lisa Thomason of Maryville; and her grandchildren, Brandy Lands, Amy Whitehead, Timothy (Chip), Zack, Logan Thomason, Misty Mitchell, Kelly Stone, Kaitlin Thomason, Caleb, Josh, Hannah, Sarah Beth, Charity Nichols, Jole, Noah, Taylor, Wyatt, Jocey Payne, Daniel and Leah Cable. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and dear friends.

Robin Hicks wrote a sympathy message

“I am so sorry about Sue, she was the sweetest person. I remember when I first went to work for John at the courthouse she came to me & told me I better not mess with her husband or I would never work again. I really thought she meant it but later on she said she was just joking but she new I would never do that to her. I will miss her coming to the office & asking me to help her or she would call me. Now her & John are together again & I know she is so much happier. She will be missed. Robin H”
