He was predeceased by: his wife Sue Skidmore Atkins; his daughter Linda Cooper; his parents, Conda Lee and Helen Fanny Jane Atkins; his siblings, Don Atkins, Geraldine Malone and Hazel Hughes; and his son-in-law Marty Gregory.
He is survived by: his children, Myra Myers, Norma Cowan (Jimmy), JoAnn Lane, Betty Gregory, Randy Atkins (Wenora), Rhonda Byrd (Steve) and Sandy Clark (Tim); and his siblings, Imogene Atkins and Alvin Atkins. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home (915 W Broadway Ave, Maryville, TN 37801). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Grandview Cemetery (2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803).
