He was predeceased by: his parents, William Leonard Shanley and Patricia Charlotte Shanley (Lolmaugh); and his brothers, Michael Allen Shanley, James Francis Shanley, Timothy David Shanley and William Bernard Shanley.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Margaret; and his daughter Brenna. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
