She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Guy Tipton and Mary Lou Tipton (Gentry); her brother Harry Tipton; and her grandchildren, Chad Smith, Emily Paige and Darby Lane Tindell.

She is survived by: her husband Charles L. Smith Sr.; her brother Kenneth Tipton (Rosalind); her children, Phillip Tindell (Sherry), Dawn Harmon (Neal), Robin Henry and Chip Smith (April); her grandchildren, Tamsen, Corey and Hannah of Wade, TJ; and her great grandchildren, Logan, Allison and Braylin.
