It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Luther B. Goodson Jr. of Maryville, Tennessee, who passed away on July 31, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Goodson and Edith Goodson; his brother-in-law Floyd Best; and his nephew Scott Best. He is survived by: his wife Janice "Hightower" Goodson; his children, Nadine Russell (Angela Brown), Jim Cates and John Cates; his grandchildren, Zachary Brown, Hollie Collins, Jacob Brown, Merritt Cates, Lea Cates, Ben Cates, Chance Cates, Blake Cates, Jack Cates and Jessica Cates; his great grandchildren, Maya Brown, Zola Brown, Samual Collins, Olive Collins, Abram Collins and Henry Brown; his siblings, Norman Goodson, Wilma Best and Faye Eblen; and his nieces, Kim Taylor, Laura Fowler and Tracy Gordon. He is also survived by his family and friends.
