He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife June; his children, Timothy Veal (Dawn), Thomas Veal (Shelly) and Tammy Lawson; his grandchildren, Alexis Lawson, Mercedes Lawson-Barry, Jade Veal, Raeden Veal, Emily Veal and Nicholas Veal; and his great grandchildren, Layla Rae and Huxley Barry.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Dotson Funeral Home (4838 Wildwood Rd, Maryville, TN 37804). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Maryville Seventh Day Adventist Church (2921 Sevierville Rd, Maryville, TN 37804). A burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at the Holston College Cemetery.
