John Woodfin Proffitt Jr. Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 8, 2025, at the age of 69, John Woodfin Proffitt Jr. of Maryville, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Proffitt, Sr. and Martha Proffitt; and his sister Sherry Bonham. He is survived by: his wife Janie Proffitt; his children, Richard Proffitt (Ashley) and Melissa Fisher (Nick); his grandchildren, Derek, Sean, Emily, Evan, Nicholas and Baer; his stepmother Jan Proffitt; and his sisters, Penny Piper and Mary Gray Hunter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Smith Funeral & Cremation Services (1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803).
