He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleophas L. Franklin and Anna B. Franklin; and his siblings, Cleophas L Franklin, Jr., Sam Wesley Franklin, Mary Farmer and Pauline Buchanan.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Delaney Franklin; his children, John V Franklin (Melanie), Daniel C Franklin (Renee) and Tammy J Kidd (David); and his sister Barbara Jenkins. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and spouses, and 9 great-grandchildren.
