He was predeceased by: his parents, John Z. Helton and Frances Helton; and his brother Paul Helton. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Helton; his children, Brinn Helton, John Scott Helton and Rex (Traci Helton); his stepson Mitchell; his grandsons, Jacob Helton and John Logan Helton; his stepgrandchildren, Malorie, Will Irwin, Monica and Preston Hughes; his great grandchild Carolina Cole Irwin; his siblings, Jerry and Virginia; and his former wife Phyllis Helton.
