He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ruby; his parents, Phrona Dixon Simerly Cowden and Odis Dixon Sr.; his siblings, Sarah Gilbert, Beaulah Mae Damron, Odis Dixon Jr., Billy Dixon and James Cecil Dion; his children, John Dixon Jr. (Leslee Davis) and Kathy Dixon; his granddaughter Rebecca McCloud (Daniel); his great grandchild Mason McCloud; his sister Donna Nelson; and his friends, Rhonda Hill, Lynn Cecil and Many. He was also cherished by Many Nieces, and Nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to either the Shriners Hospital or St. Jude's Hospital in memory of Chester.
