He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Beth" Gass Werndli; his parents, Harry Werndli and Julia Mae Werndli; and his brothers, Howard E. Werndli and Herman L. Werndli.
He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara (Garry Kahn) and Carol (John Shoun); his grandchildren, Blade Caldwell, Betsy Caldwell Cronin (Paul), Abby Shoun Kaplan (Aaron) and Mark Shoun (Laura); and his great grandchildren, Madeline, Callaway Cronin, Graham, Jay Kaplan, Gavin, Logan and Maren Shoun.
