He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Cowden and Ruby Lee Patton; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Lawhon. He is survived by: his wife LaJuana "LJ" Cowden; his children, Niki (Scott Love) and Anson (Leesa Cable); his grandchildren, Alexis (Andrew Pierce), Kyler Love, Gracie Love, AJ Cable and Cason Cable; his great grandchild Arie Pierce; his sisters, Brenda Lawhon, Teresa Hart (Chet), Denise Irwin (Ronnie) and Sharon Holder (Mike); and his close friends, Steve, Kim Hannah, Ronnie and Jeannie Hepperly.
