He was predeceased by: his mother Bertha Lay Jones; his siblings, Norma Lay, A. C. Lay, Bob Lay and Junior Jones; and his stepsister Ethel Newcomb.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Cook Jones; his sisters, Judie Elliott of Knoxville and Peggy Fine of Cincinnati; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Lay of Spartanburg, SC, Maryann Jones of Luttrell, Donna Hendricks (Mark) of Maryville and Connie Atkins of Knoxville.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Madison Avenue Baptist Church (1918 Madison Ave, Maryville, TN 37804).
In lieu of flowers his wish was for donations to be made to: special needs organizations, Lion's Club, or a VA charity of your choice, as these were close to his heart.
