David Simmerly Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 31, 2024, at the age of 83, David Simmerly (Maryville, Tennessee) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though David may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those David touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Martha; his sons, Jerry and Mark; and his grandchildren, Hannah, Ryne, Mark-David, Casey and Anaka.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (100 S Rankin Rd, Alcoa, TN 37701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Grandview Pavilion (2316 Graves Rd, Maryville, TN 37803).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Calvary Baptist Church, Alcoa, where David had previously served as Chairman of Deacons, VBS director and Sunday School director. Donations can be either mailed to or dropped in donation boxes at the church.
