He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Jones and Ralph Capps; his stepfather Richard McKeehan; and his son Ralph Lovell Capps II. He is survived by: his wife Sandy Capps; his son Brent Capps; his stepson David Hammontree; his half-sisters, Tanya Stinson and Gina Arnold; and his stepsister Leigh Anne Jones (Suzi Capps).
