Dean Slone wrote a sympathy message

“I weep, not because Charlie is gone from this life but because he is gone from my life. My heart aches for myself, for Karen and the family, and for all that knew, loved and respected him. We who have been left behind will get past this and time will lessen the pain. Trust in God and believe we will see him again. Charlie, ask Tom and Ronnie to save us some seats at the shipmate table. Bless you brother. Dean”
