He was predeceased by: his wife Artis; his children, Catherine and Robert; and his grandson Noah. He is survived by: his children, Joseph (late Katherine), Jodie Koehn (Joe) and Charles; and his daughter-in-law Donna (late Robert). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
