He is survived by: his wife Katherine Pyott Rutherford of Maryville, Tennessee.; his siblings, Leonard Nelson Rutherford, Jr. (Deloris) of Concord, Pam Atkinson Roane of Roanoke, Virginia and Lynn Rutherford Snow (Jimmy) of Crozet, Virginia; his stepson C. J. Clifton (Denise) of Morganton; his daughters, Tosha Rutherford Thomas (Kurt) of Carrollton, Georgia and Rachel Rutherford Layton (Joe) of Clarksville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Clarisa Slayter (Lucas Duncan), Brenden Slayter, Blakely Thomas, Hannah Clifton and Layla Layton; his great grandchild Elliemay Duncan; and his close friends, Danny Rivera of Pigeon Forge, Dr. Ed Cherry of Maryville, Charles Leonard of Kingsport, Dempsey Walker of Maryville, Jerry Cromer of Tazewell and Charlie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
