He was predeceased by: his wife Nora Kay Burns; and his siblings, Wanda Burns Story and Gary Lynn Burns. He is survived by: his son Robert Thomas Burns; his daughter-in-law Rita Ann Burns; and his grandsons, Nathanael Jebidiah Burns and Gary Daniel Burns.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the West Millers Cove Cemetery Association, 931 E Millers Cove Road, Walland, TN 37886.
