Cecil Freeman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Cecil Freeman in Maryville, Tennessee, born in Memphis, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 1, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Cecil farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Cecil is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Dupuy Freeman and Lady Izma Minor Freeman; his son David; and his siblings, R. W., Dr. Jerre Freeman and Lola Langdon (Jim).
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne West-Freeman of Maryville; his son Stephen (Krista) of Collierville; and his grandsons, Stephen, Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ and Matthew (Jasmin) of Collierville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Smith Trinity Chapel (1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Grandview Cemetery (2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803).
