He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert B. Young and Julia Mays Young; and his brothers, Max H., Jack G., James F. and Dr William C. Young.

He is survived by: his children, Leah D. Burton (Jeff) and Ben H. Young, Jr. (Kim); his grandchildren, Jared Burton (Taylor) and Delaney Smith (Devin); and his great grandchild Walker Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
