She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry and Sarah Hicks Britt; and her husband Herbie Scott. She is survived by: her daughter Kay Chappel of Martin; her grandson Kyle Chappel of Martin; her stepgranddaughter Bonnie Rodriguez; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Matteo Rodriguez and Christopher Delarosa. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
