He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Emery Rooks, Sr. and Willie Mae Boone Rooks; and his brother Johnny Rooks. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Johnston Rooks of Martin; his children, Stephanie Tanner (Marcus) of Bluffton, SC and Mark Rooks (Rhonda) of Lyons, MI; his siblings, Nancy Russ of Foley, AL, Linda Vincent of Martin and Mike Rooks of Arlington, TN; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Rooks, Lilly Rooks, Hudson Tanner and Kinsley Tanner. He is also survived by the love of his life for 59 years, his children and grandchildren.
