He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Parham and Mary Jane Parham; his wife Edna Parham; and his siblings, Joe Parham and Carolyn Bush.

He is survived by: his children, Barbara Hyde (Ronnie) and Michael Phillips; his siblings, Sidney, Donnie, Gary, Terry Parham and Reta Parham; his grandchildren, Chris Duke, Lindsey Duke, Danielle Phillips and Heather Payne; and his great grandchildren, Corbin, Landry, Spencer, Victoria, Chelsea, Rachel and Haley. He is also survived by 5 great-great-grandchildren.

“I sure liked Sammy, He and I coon hunted together for a while, then he got to where he didn't hear too good, but up until then Sammy was a good hunter, He enjoyed hunting and training his own hounds and was pretty good at it. I really enjoyed hunting with him. We had some good hunts together.Even after he quit hunting, he would still drop by the house every week or so. I also liked going by the Barber Shop to shoot the breeze with him and others there. I'm gonna miss ole Sammy. Ronnie Patterson”
