He was predeceased by: his parents, C. W. "Buddy" Burr and Elsie Jean Goodrum Burr; his son Robert Charles Burr; and his brother Donald Gene Burr. He is survived by: his wife Helen Kay Williams Burr; his former wife Mary Lynn Corbin Haggard; his children, James Michael Burr (Cathy) and Sharon Lynn Woodard; his siblings, Dwight Mason Burr (Gloria), Almera McCoslin, Nancy Elizabeth McDonald (George) and Cynthia Stretz (Larry); his grandchildren, Anna Woodard, Stone Woodard, Grace Woodard, Hope Woodard, Matthew Burr and Megan Burr; and his cousin Hillary Goodrum. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rutledge Falls Baptist Church.
