He was predeceased by: his parents, Enos Fay Reed and Julia Avis Coats Reed; his son H. Douglas Reed Jr.; and his siblings, Herbert Reed, James Reed, Bobby Reed, Donnie Reed, Nellie Smith and Betty Peek.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Taylor Reed; his children, Mark Reed (Josie), Robert Reed (Donna), Cathy Milcher and Christie Reed Beaty (Jason); his brothers, Ross Reed (Linda) and William Reed; and his grandchildren, Stephanie, Melissa, Joey, Danielle, Christopher, Dalton, Brittany, Mac, Ben, Jack, Mae, Ethan, Lucas and Seth. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Central Funeral Home (2812 Hillsboro Hwy, Manchester, TN 37355). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
