He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Houston and Edith Peary Alford; his children, Sherry Carter, Sheila Cantrell and Ronnie Cantrell; his grandchildren, Faith Gilchrist and Buddy Wayne Evans; his siblings, Jessie Lee Alford (Nina), Murial Alford (Beatrice), Marion Alford, Emogene Burgess, Oreane Hockett (Earl), Betty May Hockett (John Robert), Vivian Floyd (Jimmy), Lois Rayburn, Juanita Alford and Cathy Alford; and his close friends, Basal Hockett, Ronnie Alford and Mike Alford.
He is survived by: his great grandchild Brittannie Phipps; his wife Virtie Mae "Sam" Alford; his children, Barry Alford (Melissa), Jean Brock (Brent) and Melissa Hice; his grandchildren, Ryan, Casey, James, Brittany, Bailey, Jason and Chris; and his siblings, Wayne Alford (Brenda), Billy Alford (Jan), Virgil Alford (Anita), Doris Alford, Vinita McGowan (Kenneth) and Linda Fay Collins. He is also survived by several extended family members and a host of friends.
