He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest, Sr. Petty and Willie Mae Petty; and his brothers, Paul and Charles Petty. He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Petty; his children, Richard Petty (Tomica) and Kim Bullock (Perry); his siblings, James Petty, Wilma Jones, Charlotte Cates and Linda Womack; his grandchildren, David Jernigan, Kimberly Meador, Clint Jernigan, Samantha Stuart, Noah Petty and Nichelle Lopez; his great grandchildren, Shane Jernigan, Kelsey Meador, Kenzey Meador, Katey Meador, Breanna Jernigan, Avery Stuart and Owen Stuart; and his great great grandchildren, Hunter Jernigan, Brooklyn Jernigan and Jax Jernigan.
