He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert James and Thelma James; his wife Pamela James; his daughter Jill Angela James; and his great grandchild Raylin Creech.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick James (Susan), Kay Reed (Eric) and Michele Freeze (Ralph); his siblings, Jerry James and Lavergne James; his grandchildren, Gabriel Wilson, Patricia Gonzales (Amidy), Jessica Lee Creech, Lindsy Reed, Hunter Reed, Martha Reed, Christina Freeze, Pamela Nichole Freeze and Elizabeth Freeze; and his great grandchildren, Gracelynn and Lilly.
