She was predeceased by: her father Clyde Womble; her stepfather Horace B. Wolfe, Sr.; her mother Amy Lee McTaggart Wolfe; her siblings, Violet Trivett, Nell Rickman, Karen Richmond, Tommy Wolfe, Sam Wolfe, Horace B. Wolfe, Jr. and Jimmy Wolfe; her husband James Louis Murphy Sr.; and her children, Sandra Williams, Patrick Murphy and James Louis Murphy Jr..
She is survived by: her daughter Sharon Lee Murphy Mitchell; her grandchildren, Amy Christine Mitchell Harrill and William Joseph Mitchell Sr. (Jessica); her great grandchildren, Destiny McLaughlin MacKenzie Harrill (Geno), William Mitchell Jr., Patrick Mitchell and Willow Stevens Mitchell; her great great grandchild Nayomi McLaughlin; and her siblings, Betty Byers, Edna Clark (Clarence), Dot McCosh, Gail Hudson (Gary) and Donnie Wolfe (Linda). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
