We are sad to announce that on January 16, 2019, at the age of 98, Jessie C. Gibson (Madisonville, Tennessee) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, D. W. Cardin and Della Maxwell Cardin; her husband R. B. "Paper" Gibson; and her siblings, Edith Long (Eral), Lena Watson (Ross), Ruhl (Esther) and Raymond.
She is survived by: her son Daniel B. Gibson of Lenoir City; her sisters, Ruby C. Layman (Jim) and Glenna Belle Cardin Hicks (Gene); and her nieces and nephews, Brenda Layman Andy of Tracy City, Myrna Watson Sharpe of Huntsville, AL, Donzella Long Whitlock of Madisonville, Barbara Moree Whitmore of Knoxville, Bud Long of Mobile, AL, Bob Long of Madisonville and Paul Reed Cardin of Englewood. She is also survived by many friends and acquaintances in her life and valued and treasured all, bringing happiness and joy along the way, with a wit and humor that could only be addressed as vintage "Jessie." She was a loving wife, first class mother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madisonville First Methodist Church Building Fund, Chestua Campground Community Cemetery Fund, or Notchey Creek Graveyard Fund.
