He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Laney and Bessie Ogle Laney; and his brother Edward Junior Laney. He is survived by: his son Steve Laney; his daughter-in-law Lisa Laney; his grandchildren, Samantha Laney, Heather Laney and Bridget Laney; his great grandchildren, Bella, Walker and Scarlet Laney; his sister Georgia E. Hooper; his nephews, Jimmy, Nicole Laney, Phillip and Carrie Laney; and his sister-in-law Nancy Jenette Laney.
