He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Lester, Sr. and Verona Crowe Lester; his former wife Sydney Denton Lester; his son Mark Lester; and his siblings, Bob, Thomas Howard Lester, Lena Lester Holt, Billie Nell Lester Hall and Betty Lester Moore.
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Charles Hall; his wife Penny Newman Lester of Madisonville; his daughter Carla Lester of Kodak, TN; his stepchildren, Debbie Newman Tallent, Travis Newman of Madisonville, TN and Sherrie Newman Reynolds (Allen) of Lenoir City, TN; and his grandchildren, Hunter, Trevor, Aiyahna Newman, Heather Ward, Chelsey McCoy and Anthony Chrisman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
