He is survived by: his son Tim Yates (Angie); his grandchildren, Josh Evans, Felisha Evans, Cody, Sara Yates, Nicole, Christopher Peels, Stephen, Jackie Yates, Travis, Shane Yates, Zacheriah Yates, James, Brittany and Brandi Yates; his great grandchildren, Zane, Jordan, Sage, Gracie, Skye, Izzy, Yasmin, Cameron, Belle, Noah, Shane, Cayden, Aubree, Lyrikah, Kinslee of Maverick, J. J., Waylon, Rylan and Zaylen; his sister Josie Rollins; and his friend Sogg Moses.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Biereley-Hale Funeral Home (4650 US-411, Madisonville, TN 37354). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hiwassee Church of God (470 Short Bark Rd, Madisonville, TN 37354).
