She was predeceased by: her former husband Johnnie Newman; her husband Carl Lester; her sons, Travis Newman and Mark Lester; her parents, Charles Kirkland and Elfriede Kirkland; and her brother Floyd Kirkland.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Tallent (Richy Johnson), Sherrie Reynolds (Allen), Carla Lester and Mike Newman (Janet); and her children-in-law, Frank Kirkland, Charlie Kirkland, Dale, Renee Kirkland and Peggy Reynolds (Richard McLemore). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; siblings.
