He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Gregory Russell; and his brother Eddie Russell. He is survived by: his wife Helen Jones Russell of Madison; his son Billy J. Russell (Connie) of Hendersonville; and his siblings, Focian Russell (Cathy) of Sevierville, TN, Clyde Russell (Annetta) of Bethpage, Kay Davis of Bethpage and Carrie "Nell" Hackett (Homer) of Cookeville.
