He was predeceased by: his wife Cornelia "Faye" Stilz; his parents, Annie Mai and Arthur William Stilz, Jr.; and his brother Larry Pruitt. He is survived by: his son Brian Stilz (Melinda); his granddaughters, Addison and Madilyn Stilz; and his brothers, David Stilz and William "Billy" Stilz (Gwendolyn Bryant).
