He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Lindsey Tyus and Robert G. Tyus; and his brother-in-law Mike Gray. He is survived by: his wife Guin (Freeman); his niece Melanie; his nephew Robert; and his sister-in-law Jesse (Diane Freeman).
