She was predeceased by: her parents, George Thomas Jewell and Nina Pearl Spurlock Thompson; her husband Joseph Birdwell; and her sisters, Kathleen McMurtry and Margaret Morrow.

She is survived by: her son Joel Stanley Birdwell; and her nieces and nephews, Jackie McMurtry, Danny McMurtry, Nancy McMurtry Abel and Janice Morrow Cushenberry.

By son's request, due to Covid safety considerations, there will be no public funeral services.
