He was predeceased by: his parents, William Doyle Tidwell and Ella Mae Tidwell (Teems); his former wife Ruby Alexander Tidwell (Barnes); and his sisters, Aileen Huffines and Wilda Newman.
He is survived by: his wife Judy N. Tidwell (King); his children, Joel Rex Tidwell Jr. and Sharon Elizabeth Crocker (Rodger); his grandchildren, Cassey Lynn (Henry), Conner Crocker and Sarah Tidwell; and his brothers, Doyle Tidwell (Ann) and Bob Tidwell (Melva).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to High Point Hospice, the Rivergate Church of Christ or to the Goodpasture Christian School.
