She was predeceased by: her parents, George Townsend and Nettie Raines Townsend; her husband James Edd Brown; and her son James Ronald "Ronnie" Brown. She is survived by: her daughter Melissa Sides of Athens, AL; her grandchildren, Tracy Cox (Jamie) of Lynnville, Brandy Embry (Eric) of Rogersville, AL and Michael Sides (Karmen) of Athens; her great grandchildren, Katelyn Cox, Ronnie James Cox, Mason Cox, Harper Wallace and Owen Embry; and her daughter-in-law Kathy Fralix (Rickie) of Lynnville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
