He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Orval Awalt; his grandparents, Lee Gore Durm (Bunt), Albert, Otsie Hasty Durm, Arthur and Nancy Hall Gore; his son-in-law Bret Cates; his wife Roxann Dusenberry Durm of Lynchburg; his daughters, Sonya Long (David) of New Johnsonville and Valerie Cates of Lynchburg; his grandsons, Brad Cates of Lynchburg, Bron Cates of Nashville, Brice Cates of Lynchburg and Austin Long of New Johnsonville; his siblings, Tim Durm (Dana) of Baxter, Nick Durm of Fayetteville, Donna Tucker of Lynchburg and Leanne Durm (Brian Minoux) of Lynchburg; and his pet Einstein. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lynchburg Funeral Home (1630 Fayetteville Hwy, Lynchburg, TN 37352). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Beech Hill Cemetery (1640 Galloway Ln, Winchester, TN 37398).
