He was predeceased by: his parents, Tillman Tyler and Avery Lee Haskins; and his siblings, Barbara Fay Winters, Dorothy Tyler, Jimmy Tyler and Roy Tyler.

He is survived by: his siblings, Joyce Tidwell, Samuel "Monroe" Tyler, Johnny Tyler and Bobby Tyler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
