He was predeceased by: his mother Jonetta Stemple; his wife Barbara Gregory; and his daughter Barbara Park (Charles). He is survived by: his sister Marilyn Ragsdale; his children, Joanne Parker (Tim), Merlinda Minton (Mike) and Merle Martin Jr.; his stepchildren, Ashley, Naomi, Mandy and Adam; and his grandchildren, Ashley Holley, Robert Lumpkin, James, Joshua, Amanda Johnson and Wesley. He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren.
