She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Monroe Sr.; her parents, Leston Tolson and Volena Tolson; her brother Robinson Tolson; her half-sister Barbara Jean Kitts; and her brother Joseph Tolson.

She is survived by: her children, Tom Monroe (Karen Jack), RoseMary Monroe (Mike McLain), Susie Bellows (William), John Monroe (Mary), Tricia Monroe and Nancy Haley (Tim); her grandchildren, Max Jack-Monroe, Elias Jack-Monroe, Theo Jack-Monroe, Shauna Hall (Pat), Donny DeMent, Gentry DeMent (Jennifer), Sarah Berry (Daniel), Tricia Humphrey (Clayton), Margaret Bellows, Nathan Bellows (Kristen), James Bellows, Tim Monroe (Holly), Tolson Bell, Shea Bell, Elena Bell, Thomas Haley, Debbie Jackson (Kevin), Annalee Haley (Bukie Walker) and Rachel Haley; her great grandchildren, Jules Torrice, Cooper Hall, Ella, Camden DeMent, Abby, Kate Berry, Audrey, Rayna, Zarina, Devereau Humphrey and June Jackson; her brother John; her sisters-in-law, Maggie Tolson, Patricia McKelvey and Myrt Tolson; her cousin Charles Collette (Sandy); and her close friend Peggy McCormac. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Halls Chapel (4131 E Emory Rd, Knoxville, TN 37938). A graveside service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery (116 Satterfield Rd, Luttrell, TN 37779).

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Cross Roads Presbyterian Church and the Halls Food Bank.
