She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Morton Carpenter; her parents, Jerry Purkey and Etta Purkey; and her brothers, Verlin, Reuben and Venus Purkey.
She is survived by: her son Steve; her daughter-in-law Dee Carpenter; her granddaughter Jenny; her grandson-in-law AJ Haynes; her great grandchildren, Faith and Hope Haynes; and her nieces and nephews, Hank Purkey (Jackie), Maria Wright (James), Linda Clark (Coy), Curt and Richard Escher.
